Geography

Intent

A high-quality geography education should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.  Teaching will equip children with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes.

Norbury C of E Primary School is situated in stunning natural surroundings, in sight of the Weaver Hills.  Many of our children are from agricultural backgrounds and experience the interaction between geographical processes and human life daily.  We intend to enable them to interpret and understand the geographical processes within which they experience their lives.

The document below shows the core learning for children in Geography in each year group at Norbury.  Scroll to the bottom for some key texts that will support our learning.

We surveyed our children about their learning in Geography.  This is how they responded to the question - how do you feel when you are learning in Geography?
