Laughter and Learning in a
Caring Christian School

Clubs

We are committed to ensuring that our children have the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities.  As a school in a beautiful, rurally isolated location, we understand our responsibility for contributing to the cultural capital of our children.

The following extra clubs and activities have been available to our children in the academic year 2022-23.

Charity and Community Champions

This group of children have worked with Miss Woodrow to raise the profile of charities in school, through fundraising activities such as non-uniform days, cake stalls, activities and games and a very exciting car wash for Aquabox.  This year they have raised almost £1000 for charities including Comic Relief and Children in Need.

Collective Worship Group

This group of children meet weekly with Miss Beckett to talk about and develop our Christian Values and Collective Worship throughout the school.  They have led acts of collective worship and spoken to the whole school and classes.

Ivengers

This group of children meet with Mrs Anders to help us to develop online and computer safety within the school.  They have presented information for the children and parents this year.

Choir

Mrs Speake is very proud of her fabulous choir who meet weekly to rehearse and learn new songs.  We have enjoyed performances in school this year but Mrs Speake is very keen for her fabulous choir to enter some competitions - watch this space!

 Library Club

The school library is open every lunchtime, staffed by our fabulous pupil librarians with a little help from Miss McDonald.  Pop in for some quiet reading, to share a story or enjoy a book based activity of game!

Very Young Farmers

The 'Very Young Farmers' club is a chid led club of farming enthusiasts led by some of the older children in school.  This group have designed their own farms, researched different species of animals, and written to celebrated farmer Tom Pemberton.

Multi Sports Club

This after school club meets weekly to enjoy and learn a variety of team sports.  This year, archery and dodgeball have been firm favourites!

Art Club

Art club have met weekly to enjoy some relaxing creative time and projects together.

Football Club

This lunchtime club has been run with the support of an adult.  However, we have been very proud of our older children who have volunteered their lunchtime play to support their younger friends in developing football skills and learn the rules of this new game.

Nature Garden Rangers

Ms McNeil works with the Nature Garden Rangers to enjoy outdoor, nature based activities and to develop the beautiful school garden.  This very active club have created some new beds, learnt how to build a natural rustic wall, and provided flowers for each outdoor learning area.  They have held a very successful community plant sale and are looking forward to creating a seedbank next year with the help of some funding from the Parish Council!
