Artist in Residence

Since 2022, we have been working with artist in residence Cath Tebbs.  Cath brings her high level of experience and skills to our children, exposing them to new techniques and approaches; exploring a variety of artists and cultures and developing the children's understanding of a common art based vocabulary through visual literacy.  Cath works in a project based way with each class in school, coordinating projects and arranging events to enhance the creative experiences of our school.  Cath has also supported our children in submitting work for the Royal Academy summer exhibition, and we are delighted to have had three children selected for the exhibition; Freddie Braithwaite-Smith, James Hiles and Bessie Braithwaite-Smith.

Bessie Braithwaite-Smith with her clay sculpture Life in an Oak, selected for display at the Royal Academy of Arts Young Artist Summer Show. Her creation features woodland animals nestled on a clay oak leaf, protected by a hand-crafted acorn.

All children have the chance to exhibit their work in our annual Summer Exhibition and art sale.  This event provides us with a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our creative successes with parents and the community.
